Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is considered a fatal disease caused by coronavirus. Currently, no treatment or vaccinations exist that can control this disease in cats. For the past decade, Dr. Alfred M. Legendre of the University of Tennessee has been studying the application of Polyprenyl Immunostimulant to treat non-effusive FIP, and published a paper reporting initial results of his studies. Legendre A.M & Bartges, J.A. (2009) Effect of polyprenyl immunostimulant on the survival times of three cats with the dry form of feline infectious peritonitis J Feline Med Surg, 11(8):624-626. You may read more in the paper by Dr. Susan Little if you click here.

More information about Dr. Legendre's research is available at his site.
